The painting 'Die Triumphbogen' is a philosophical statement not only about war
and victory, but also about the loss of human values; the widow of the 'victory' looks out
into uncertainty. War, although seemingly distant, suddenly becomes a reality, the heat of
guided missiles have scorched the skin of the artist and he is unable to avoid the theme,
