Raymond Boekelder

Raymond Boekelder studied from 1985 - 1990 at the kunstacademie AKI , Enschede  and from 1990 to 1992 at the Rijksacademie, Amsterdam. He was represented in Amsterdam by gallery Hof&Huyser untill 2009, the year that this gallery was closed. He participated several years in the exhibitions for the "Koninklijke Subsidie voor vrije schilderkunst". This is his first exhibition with Art Singel 100.

He paints in a figurative style combined with geometric elements that change the perspective viewpoint. The actors in his paintings are shown in a subdued and tranquil mood. If the figures in his paintings relate to each other, it appears to take place in silence. The doubling of images can be read as conversations that one has with yourself.
